A COGNAC FIT FOR ROYALTY - HINE UNVEILS BONNEUIL 2008

This month, HINE Cognac releases the long awaited third addition of its Domaines HINE Bonneuil Collection.

The Hine story began back in 1791, when a young Englishman set out from his native Dorset to learn the secrets of how cognac, his father’s favourite tipple, was produced. Fleeing the French Revolution the young Thomas arrived in Jarnac, a small town just east of Cognac and the rest they say is history..

HINE Bonneuil the third installment of the unique and rare Domaines HINE Bonneuil Collection of limited edition single vintage, single estate cognacs. In addition to reflecting HINE’s fine and delicate style, the Domaines Bonneuil un-blended cognacs are the purest expression of the chalky terroir in Grande Champagne, the most desired growing area in Cognac. It’s a treat to taste the first and second expressions, which are made from grapes grown in the same vineyard, side-by-side. The 2005 vintage’s fruity and floral tasting notes are the result of a warm year, while the 2006 vintage’s fruity and sweet tasting notes are the result of a year of mixed weather. Only 18 casks of each vintage are hand-selected for bottling.

Much like the previous two releases in the revered collection, Domaines HINE Bonneuil 2008 delivers the essence of a single harvest on selected plots. After aging in oak casks for a decade, the youngest HINE Bonneuil reveals aromas of cranberry, ripe apricot, and mountain honey. The bright flavor of cranberry inspires its coral container and each bottle of the 7,200 bottles ( 16 casks) of Bonneuil 2008 selected for bottling is numbered.
