LA JOLLA'S RAZOR $30 MILLION HOUSE

Immortalized in the Marvel comic book series Iron Man, Razor House, located in La Jolle, California is a famous for its cutting-edge design and architectural genius as it is for its superhero status.

Perched like a monument to modern architecture above La Jolla, California’s coastline, the Razor House sits precariously, yet firmly, cantilevered above the Pacific Ocean in its own private world of sea and sky. Combining high drama, originality and privacy, the structure embraces the view through layers of interior glass walls and captures the colours of the sunset through its undulating curves. Designed by one of Architectural Digest’s Top 100 Designers, Wallace E. Cunningham, it is now offered for sale at $30 million.


A masterful study in engineering and construction, the house extends several stories below the original surface so that each roof forms a terrace to the adjacent upper floor. The centre of the structure is essentially hollowed out, creating a perimeter house wrapped around an open courtyard which allows daylight and stunning views all the way back to the retaining wall.

This one-of-a-kind property comprises offers a total of 10,240 sq. ft. of living space, divided into two large master suites, two extra bedrooms, six bathrooms, two steam showers, a rooftop spa, an outdoor barbeque and a generously equipped glass-walled gym. On top of all this, there is also a multi-levelled 1,301 square feet guesthouse with two bedrooms, two baths and its own individual access to each room. The see-through glass elevator raises all the way from the underground garage made famous by the Iron Man Films to the top deck.
