SkyDeck the revolutionary new in-flight entertainment product ...
When flying commercial, First Class is the pinnacle in aviation travel however one engineering company have decided to push the boundaries in flight experiences further with the new "SkyDeck" concept.
Designed by Aerospace engineering company Windspeed Technologies, SkyDeck will provide ultra-premium seats to a couple of passengers going above and beyond first class. The seats arranged above the fuselage are designed as a bubble shaped viewing platform providing a 360-degree view. Passengers will access the SkyDeck via a staircase or elevator inside the aeroplane, the aim "to create the next exciting experiential in-flight entertainment for VIP aircraft owners and the airline industry," said Windspeed Technologies. An interactive display on each seat displays flight information, and a dial allows passengers to rotate their seats, instead of their heads to see an all-around view.
The SkyDeck will be designed to withstand all load conditions, including flight loads and birdstrike impact loads. The canopy will be made of similar high-strength materials as those used to build the canopies of supersonic fighter jets.
According to the company, the SkyDeck can be added to existing aeroplanes and customized for different-sized vehicles. Smaller jets will have the option of including a single-seat option, while larger aircraft could include space for two passengers.
Windspeed Technology claims it is in talks with several major airlines.
