I FEEL ONLY 20% READY FOR THE AUSTRALIA GRAND PRIX

Williams driver Robert Kubica believes he is only "20 percent" ready for the first race of the 2019 Formula 1 season.

Following his exit from F1 in 2011, Kubica returns to grand prix racing in just two weeks' time at the Melbourne but given Williams poor start and preparation for the season the driver feels under-prepared for the season ahead.

Kubica managed to complete just 268 laps in the FW42 during his three days of testing

"Coming back after eight years, probably I know 20 percent of the things that I should know before going to Australia. There is a lot of question marks. But that's the reality, we cannot change it."

During his short stint in Barcelona Kubica did manage to run a qualifying simulation time of 1m 18.993s on the fastest C5 tyre, placing him 2.772s off the ultimate pace set by Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, plus the lack of seat time in his new car Kubica's confidence as he prepares for his much-anticipated comeback is very low.

My last real run when I feel the car was running well was [Wednesday] afternoon, so I get up a lot of confidence, but since then my confidence has disappeared."
