The exclusive, highly mechanical, ultra high-end Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon watch is a showpiece of extreme timekeeping perfectly translating the pure excursiveness of the Bugatti Chiron.
As one would expect it is extremely complicated watch with the pièce de résistance a functioning miniature W16 engine that mimicks the 16-cylinder motor that propels the Bugatti Chiron inside a black titanium case. Made out of one solid steel piece – he miniature engines is one of the smallest and most complicated watch parts ever manufactured by the brand.
Composed of 578 parts and 51 jewels, its functions include a traditional hour and minute display, a one-minute tourbillon inclined at 30 degrees towards the wearer, a W16 engine block in sapphire with an on-demand animation with pistons and crankshafts flying around, and a power-reserve indicator at 8 o’clock.
The titanium case Jacob & Co. Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon is inspired by the lines of the Chiron and features a massive sapphire crystal for greater visibility of all of the moving parts. The “back” of the case features three crowns: the left crown sets the time, the middle crown winds both the movement (60 hours of power reserve) and the animation, and a push of the right-hand crown starts the animation.
The final touch is the power reserve at 3 o’clock, shaped like a fuel gauge…
