Jacob & Co. has unveiled yet another magnificent timepiece that this times honors the film ‘Scarface’...
Called the Scarface Opera, it follows the path of the other Opera timepieces in the Jacob & Co.’s collection. This limited edition version is more than just a watch it's a music box that works as such, with rollers and energy provided in a traditional and mechanical way
Honoring the influential movie the music box plays the song “Bolivia” from the movie.
The integrated Swiss music box plays the 120-note song when activated by the pusher at 10 o’clock. In total, there are 658 individual parts, including an incredibly complex triple-axis high-speed tourbillon.
The time reading is located at 12 o’clock thanks to an off-center gold dial and blackened base. A grand piano in black lacquer appears at 10 o’clock, while the reels are at 9 and 3 o’clock and in its center there is a gold sphere lacquered in red with the inscription “The World is Yours”.
The tri-axial tourbillon shows at 6 o’clock and on its right side a pink gold plate with red lacquer draws the figure of Tony Montana and Scarface writes in reference to the cover of the tape.
There are two different variations of this watch, one with a Black DLC Grade 5 Titanium case and the other with an 18k Rose Gold case, inspired by the decoration found in the entrance hall of Tony Montana’s Miami mansion.
The Opera Scarface watch is limited to just 88 pieces and available now through the Jacob & Co. website.
