JACOB & CO IS LAUNCHING THE FIRST EVER NFT WATCH
Luxury jewelry and watchmaking brand Jacob & Co. has announced that it was teaming up with NFT platform ArtGrails to release the world’s first NFT timepiece ...
We've had the house and the artwork now NFT's have branched into luxury accessories. Based on the Epic SF24, a physical world time travel watch with an innovative split-flap that displays 24 cities around the world, the new NFT version will instead display the names of 10 cryptocurrencies: NFT, Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Fantom (FTM), Tether (USDT), Cardano (ADA), Stellar (XLM), Binance Coin (BNB), Polkadot (DOT), Ripple (XRP).
Jacob & Co.’s CEO Benjamin Arabov explained: “My hope is for Jacob & Co. to become the first luxury brand to launch a successful NFT and pave the way for other luxury brands to start launching products & collections through NFT. It’s not a matter of ‘if’ NFTs will have a place in the watches and luxury world, but ‘when.’ For Jacob & Co., the ‘when’ is now, and we are prepared to pioneer this shift.”
NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, are entries on a blockchain, a type of digital ledger ( similar to that of crypto currentcy) and represent a one-of-a-kind assets in the digital world that can be bought and sold like any other piece of property, but they have no tangible or physical form of their own.
