Mirage, the optical illusion 106-metre megayacht from Fincantieri Yachts
Italian shipbuilders Fincantieri working with Dutch architects Van Geest Design have unveiled the ultimate megayacht for those looking for anonymity. Clad in reflective surfaces the 4,200 tonne vessel blends effortlessly into its surrounding reflecting back in surrounding environment making it near on impossible to see.
Forward and aft exterior spaces are balanced in size and MIRAGE has the unusual appearance of seeming ‘open-ended’ on each deck. In reality, glass balustrades provide near-invisible barriers to the straight-edged decks for a more intense connection with the air and water from the sundeck down to the main deck swimming pool.
Other onboard amenities include sundeck a helipad and Jacuzzis on the sundeck forward and upper deck aft, plus numerous outdoor lounges and sunbathing areas.
If constructed, MIRAGE would cost approximately £200 million and would provide accommodation for a maximum of 14 guests over 7 cabins, while a crew of 29 would ensure the efficient running of all on board systems and amenities.
