Jacob&Co watches are timepieces that us mere mortals can only inspire to own, which is why its latest creation is an ode to the gods..

The new "God's of Time" creation is not only a horological masterpiece it also houses the world’s fastest tourbillon. To celebrate founder Jacob Arabo's 60th birthday, he decided to shatter a record, and make God of Time the fastest tourbillon ever, whilst most others spin once every minute, God of Time's makes one revolution every 4 seconds. That is fifteen times quicker than the classic one-minute tourbillon and quick enough to make most high complications feel like they are simply crawling along!
To achieve this Jacob & Co. built a new movement , the in-house JCAM60. Crafted from titanium and lightened so that with the tourbillon and carriage together weighs just 0.27 grams, despite measuring 12 mm in diameter and harnassing the constant force.

The energy consumption of a tourbillon is a function of its speed and weight. Every time the speed doubles, the force requirement quadruples. And this carriage is 15 times faster than the classic 60-second one. Feeding this one-of-a-kind invention requires a massive amount of energy. It's stored in two sets of two stacked barrels, whose force is harnessed by a constant force device. Achieving balance between the tourbillon's speed and a weekend-proof power reserve of 60 hours required of Jacob & Co.'s tourbillon expertise. Building on the experience provided by over 30 different tourbillon movements, Caliber JCAM60 managed the impossible.

Housed in a 44.5-mm case shaped like an Ionian Greek column. God of Time's case, dial and overall architecture are inspired by ancient Greek temples. Chronos the proverbial god of time, almost in the flesh, is represented with vivid realism with a crisp, three-dimension, hand-made rose gold applique on the dial with a blue alligator strap
Only 60 examples will be made with the price tag expected to be around $360,000.
