Formula 1 bosses are still searching for the right location to host a second race in the United States even though residents in Miami have opposed the initial draft..
Liberty Media has made clear a second race in the US is a priority for Formula 1 and remains hopeful of bringing F1 to the sunny streets of Miami in the future. While initial plans to create a street circuit in the Bayfront area was met with opposition from local residents, plans for an alternative venue are well underway with the Miami Gardens and the Hard Rock Stadium - the home of the Miami Dolphins pinpointed as a potential venue.
F1's global director of promoters and business relations, Chloe Targett-Adams told ESPN
"We are taking a long-term view on it, Miami's definitely a city we want to race in. It's electric, it's an awesome destination, it's a hugely vibrant, dynamic, great city to add to the Formula One calendar.
