STEINWAY & SON LAUNCH LIMITED EDITION BLACK DIAMOND PIANO DESIGNED BY DAKOTA JACKSON

With its storied history and reputation for quality, Steinway & Sons has long been the piano of choice for musicians around the world. One such talent is Chinese virtuoso Lang Lang. For the first time ever, the Steinway artist has collaborated with renowned American furniture designer Dakota Jackson to create the Steinway Black Diamond Limited Edition piano ...

Inspired by the sheer exquisiteness and rarity of the black diamond, these limited-edition Steinway pieces are extremely exclusive. With its lustrous metallic accents and elegant lines, the Steinway Black Diamond is a testament to Jackson’s artistic expression with the three diamond‑shaped silhouettes punctuating the line of the instrument’s rim to the S-shaped topstick. Another contribution by the artist is Lang Lang’s signature on each Limited Edition.

Commenting on the piano, Lang in a statement said “The BLACK DIAMOND has not only the look — but the sound, the emotion, the touch.”

The Steinway Black Diamond piano also features the revolutionary Spirio | r technology

the world’s finest high resolution player piano capable of live performance capture and high resolution recording and playback, giving life to your STEINWAY with performances from the world’s greatest pianists in a constantly updated and growing library including; Lang Lang, Diana Krall and Arthur Rubinstein. As a final personal contribution to The Black Diamond features a Limited Edition Spirio Playlist recorded by Lang Lang, this exclusive playlist is only available only a Black Diamond.

Each instrument takes about three years to craft, from the selection of wood to the integration of the piano keys, which explains why there are only eight Model D concert pianos and 88 Model B classic grand pianos available in the world.

As the maker of the world’s finest pianos since 1853, Steinway & Sons has continually pushed boundaries and has led the revolution of bringing artistry, craftsmanship, and technological advancement together. While still adhering to traditions that have not changed in over a century, the Steinway Black Diamond continuously adapts cutting-edge technology to its creations.

Today the Steinway Black Diamond takes the lead in piano design as we entering into a new era of evolution.
