INSIDE RYAN GIGG'S & GARY NEVILLE'S LUXURY MANCHESTER HOTEL
The Stock Exchange Hotel, one of Manchester’s most eagerly anticipated hotels, recently opened as a member of Relais & Châteaux , we take a sneak peak inside ..
The former Stock Exchange building, located in the heart of Manchester, is a striking example of Edwardian architecture. Purchased by former Manchester United team mates Ryan Giggs & Gary Neville who partnered with hotelier Winston Zahra to breathe new life into the grade II listed building on Norfolk Street some six years ago have finally unveiled all their hard work.
When co-owners Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs first purchased the building, it comprised of three floors of office space which were converted in the 1980’s. These sat above a previously popular ground floor restaurant housed under a magnificent domed ceiling. Several trees had rooted themselves on the roof and had spread through the drainpipes, unfortunately causing water and material damage to the historic asset.
Following a £17million refurbishment plan the stunning example of Edwardian Baroque architecture, with its original marble, brass and woodwork, has been carefully restored to breathe new life into one of the city’s most historically symbolic institutions offering a collection of 40 rooms, including two signature suites and a stunning 3,500 square foot penthouse residence and a touch of nostalgia.
The interiors have been designed by Autoban, and are described as “a subtle arrangement of a light palette of colours, combined with luxurious materials, original marble, brass, glass and woodwork,” ensuring that “…guests will experience spaces deeply rooted in the history and heart of the city, crafted around the remarkable stories of the building”.
But what is causing buzz about this hotel is the penthouse suite aptly named "The House" has been unveiled as the most expensive in Manchester and in fact the whole of northern UK. Comprising of three meticulously designed bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a fully fitted kitchen, breakfast bar, two separate lounge areas, a beverage bar and a stylish dining room.A fitness room completes this exquisite top floor residence. Offered for both long and short term residences "The House" can be rented for £20,000 per month or £1,750.00 per day
The food and beverage is overseen by Michelin chef Tom Kerridge.
