HOLLYWOOD COMES TO WALES

Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney complete their takeover bid for one of the world's oldest football teams the Welsh club Wrexham AFC...


The north Wales club, formed in 1864 which play in English football's fifth tier following it's relegation from the Football League in 2008 has acquired some star power. The National League club, which has been fan owned since 2011, has approved a takeover bid from two unlikely people, Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds best known for his role as Deadpoo and Rob McElhenney lwith over 98.6% of supporters' trust members backing the bid.


In a statement, the trust wrote: "Subject to final agreement, league and FA confirmation - the RR McReynolds Company, LLC will take 100 per cent control of Wrexham Football Club Limited from the WST.


During an online meeting with supporters the dynamic duo outlined their vision to make Wrexham “a global force” with hopes of significant funds now being invested thanks to a Netflix style "fly-on-the-wall" documentary of the pairs first foray into the sport.
