Bang & Olufsen have released its first soundbar the “Beosound Stage” a technological feast for the eyes.
Minimalistic design is at the heart of all B&O designs and that remains true with the new Beosound Stage. Made in collaboration with Danish firm, NORM architects, the design of the soundbar reflects NORM’s characteristic design features which include aesthetic geometric arrangements and elegantly crafted products.
The focal point of the soundbar’s design is its simple, elegant frame, which is available in natural aluminium, bronze tone aluminium or smoked oak. The frame runs all the way around the speaker and houses a seamlessly integrated engraved sensory control panel. The 2mm gap between the frame and the fabric speaker cover gives the illusion that the speaker is floating within the frame and creates an exciting contrast between the rigid exterior and the soft, acoustically transparent textile.
In true B&O fashion the Beosound Stage comes packed full of supreme technology; it has 11 custom speaker drivers, along with a 50W amplifier for each. The centre channel drivers include four 4-inch woofers which will reduce distortion and improve the bass.
The mids are covered by tw 1.5-inch mid-range drivers and a 0.75-inch dome tweeter. The left and right sides each have a 1.5-inch mid-range and 0.75-inch tweeters that are positioned closely together and 45-degrees off-axis in order to create three-dimensional sound. It also includes Dolby Atmos and five different listening modes (TV, movie, music, night and non) that can then be further customised with B&O's 'ToneTouch' equaliser, this lets users feel their way through the sound settings.
The Beosound Stage is also capable of multi-room streaming and is compatible with Chromecast (which is built in), bluetooth and Apple AirPlay 2.
