The resort which was developed on the uninhabited island of Kagi in North Male Atoll measuring 2.5-hectare located about 55 kilometres from the main Velana International Airport. The boutique 50-villa resort of 40 Water Pool Villas and 10 Beach Pool Villas will provide couples, friends and solo travelers with a 360° wellness experience. Kagi has partnered with esteemed architect Yuji Yamazaki on the design of the resort. At the heart of the island will sit Kagi’s 1500-square-meter spa and wellness hub, complete with an open-air, teardrop-shaped floating yoga pavilion at its centre. Kagi will also house a state-of-the-art gym, two restaurants, three bars, a dive centre and a house reef.
Guests will be able to choose from three room types, a Beach Pool Villa, a Lagoon Pool Villa or an Ocean Pool Villa, all of which will be distinguished by their unique locations and will house a private pool, a sun deck and an expansive indoor-outdoor bathroom. Positioned at the lagoon of the island, Kagi’s Baani Spa will offer a personalized, outcome-focused wellness programme that will take guests on a journey to Release, Restore and Regain.
The most striking feature of Kagi Maldives is its spa and wellness centre which sit a few meters off the western coast of the island. The fully integrated wellness centre and spa will consist of four treatment rooms with outdoor bathing facilities, a relaxation lounge, beauty salon, fully-equipped yoga and sound-healing studio, steam rooms and a spa wellness boutique. A ‘Spa Corner’ will raise the ‘juice’ bar with superfoods and ingredients rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, offering a variety of drinks that are as delicious as they are energizing and nutritious.
Alternative therapies including crystal and sound healing, lifestyle and health coaching and nutrition lessons will complement a comprehensive range of beauty and massage treatments. For those looking to improve their fitness, a state-of-the-art gym, tai chi, qigong, yoga and Pilates will all be on offer, with a rotation of visiting expert practitioners providing dedicated retreats.
The more adventurous will also have a chance to sample a variety of watersports including day-and-night snorkeling, scuba diving, catamaran and sailing boat trips, and much more. For food lovers Kagi will house two restaurants, three bars and an expansive wine cellar. The resort’s fusion cuisine will take inspiration from the geographical ‘ring of fire’ that surrounds the Maldives, from the highly spiced and fragranced cuisine of South East Asia to the bold, fiery flavors of South America and Oceania.
