Uber plans to offer UberCopter rides in New York City
We've all heard of Uber the car sharing service and earlier this years Uber announced scUber a submarine experience in the Great Barrier Reef well starting July 9th, Uber will be taking to the skies with its latest incarnation - UberCopter offering an aerial ridesharing service between JFK airport and Lower Manhattan that can be booked on demand through its app.
UberCopter, will offer eight minute flights between the city and its major airport, with prices typically costing between $200 and $225 per person. Flights can be booked up to five days in advance.
Reserved exclusively for Uber Platinum and Diamond members of its customer loyalty program, Uber Rewards. UberCopter can be booked up to five days in advance of take off, can carry upto five people and will include private ground transportation on both ends. The flights, which take off from near the Staten Island Ferry and land at a helipad near Terminal 8, will run Monday through Friday during afternoon rush hour.
