Louis Vuitton reveals it's second high jewelery collection - Stellar Times ...
Taking on a more abstract and poetic approach to exploring the stars, constellations, and the universe, Stellar Times is the second high jewellery collection designed by Artistic Director Francesca Amfitheatrof.
Inspired by last years 50th anniversary of the first moon landings and a new interest in space exploration driven by the likes of Elon Musk's SpaceX and Richard Branson's Virgin Galactica, the 90 piece collection encapsulates the beauty of the cosmos with a dazzling array of diamonds, opals, sapphires, rubies and emeralds adorn statement necklaces, earrings and rings.
Distinguished by seven unique themes, Stellar Times incorporates rubies to represent Astre Rouge, emerald and sapphire for Planète Blue, translucent green-blue indicolite tourmaline for Apogée, and a constellation of kaleidoscope-hued spinels form Interstellaire.
Francesca Amfitheatrof said in a statement “Beyond the figurative representation of the stars, what interests me in this theme is the immensity, the navigation in space and this feeling of wonder in front of the beauty of the cosmos. Today, women figure among the best astronauts. And tomorrow, we will go to Mars. Imagining that a woman will go there reflects the values of our brand, symbol of travel, adventure, daring ."
