To celebrate the launch of the new LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar, LEGO and Koenigsegg have built a life-sized, fully driveable replica and it's the fastest big build yet!

The new Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear ‘megacar’ from Swedish manufacturer Christian Von Koenigsegg may have a price tage of £4m, but for those of us with slightly smaller pockets (!) then there is an alternative the new £399 LEGO Technics version.
Alright, so it may not have 1,625 bhp reaching speeds of 224 mph but the big build version commissioned to go down the Goodwood hillclimb course in reverse still managed to hit speeds of 69mph - making it the fastest LEGO car ever built
Built out of 327,906 LEGO Technic elements and complete with a nine-speed gearbox, and Triplex suspension, the drivable LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear weighs approximately 1,800kg, of which 400kg is LEGO elements, and took more than 9,400 hours to develop and construct. Its intricate details feature a lightweight body built entirely of LEGO Technic elements, working Ghost Mode, and even the signature Koenigsegg key, all carefully integrated to mirror the functionality of its real-world counterpart.

The new LEGO® Technic™ Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar is the sixth model in the LEGO Technic Ultimate Car Concept Series. The LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar consists of 4,104 LEGO elements, promising fans a challenging and rewarding build experience. The set features:
An authentic V8 piston engine.
A functional 9-speed transmission.
A unique Triplex front and rear suspension.
A new rotating gear indicator disc, visually displaying which gear the model is currently in
The standout innovation is the working ‘Ghost Mode’ function. With a single movement, it raises the rear clam, rotates the signature dihedral synchro-helix doors and front hood, and folds the mirrors - mirroring the functionality of the real-life megacar.
Developed in close collaboration between the LEGO Technic design team and Koenigsegg, the model captures the precision engineering and performance that define the Sadair’s Spear. Additional functional elements include working steering and a removable roof, enhancing display and interactive play possibilities. The V8 piston engine is also included as part of the model’s drivetrain system, continuing the LEGO Technic tradition of realistic engine simulation.
