There are custom cars and then there’s a Steve Tansy custom car! Probably his most bizarre is this, the “Pool Hustler” a hot-rod with you guessed it a billiards table on top…

You may not be familiar with the name Steve Tansy but you will definitely know his work, a custom car and hot-rod builder he has spent nearly 40 years re-modelling famous cars and is the brains behind film classics such as the; Batmobile, Ecto-1 used in Ghostbusters, and the Black Beauty used in The Green Hornet.
But by far this 70’s hot-rod seems to be one of his most craziest creations and that’s because the “Pool Hustlers” has a full sized billiards table thought to be over 100years old on top of it. This sits above the V8 Hemi engine, which is currently not running which is mated to an automatic gearbox. The exhaust pipes exit the engine via the side of the pool table with four on each side.
The unique design of this incredible looking ‘car’ is quite remarkable. The pool cues are neatly tucked into the side bodywork, the wheel caps are made to look like pool balls, there are sunken pool balls to the front of the bodywork and steering is via a rather unorthodox ‘V’ shaped handle, with the obligatory pool ball in the centre. The pool table itself is in fairly good condition, according to the auction house.
So is you’re a fan of pool then the “Pool Hustler” is set to be sold with no reserve by Historic Auctioneers at the Brooklands Velocity, Mercedes Benz World classic auction on Saturday, Nov. 29.
