The new TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 Full Diamond is the most precious connected watch in the world, so say Tag Heuer.
Paved with white gold and 589 diamonds, the timepiece is priced at a staggering $180,000 / £143,000
Unveilled at the 2018 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie Genève, the Connected Full Diamond is more or less identical to last year’s Tag Heuer Modular 45 smartwatch, except for one small detail - it’s dripping in diamond 23.35 carats of baguette diamonds to be precise and the casing and bracelet are made from 18 karat white gold.
The rest of the watch is basically a standard Android Wear 2.0 device: AMOLED screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, and an Intel Atom Z34XX processor. As it runs Android Wear operating system, it is compatible with Android 4.3 and above phones and iOS 9 or later versions.
The watch is water resistant up to 50 meters and boasts an NFC sensor, enabling contactless payment via Android Pay.
The connected module is interchangeable with an Haute Horlogerie mechanical module, Chronograph Calibre 5 or COSC-certified Chronograph Tourbillon. Tag Heuer has said that it’ll be offering the trade-in program, enabling users to swap in a mechanical movement for the electronic one once it becomes outdated.
